Let your light shine - celebrate!

At Staunton and Corse, “Let Your Light Shine” is not something we remind our children to do – it is who we are and how we live and learn together each day. Our vision is woven through the life of the school and is reflected in how children behave, support one another and take pride in their learning.
Children have their own avatar and earn Dojo points for good work, helping others, being friendly and supporting their teacher. These points all count towards their house team, with weekly competitions and rewards helping everyone work together and shine as a team.
Children can also let their light shine by living out our Christian value of the term. During weekly collective worship, stars are awarded to children who are noticed showing this value in action – for example, acts of compassion, kindness or forgiveness. When children take real pride in their learning and produce work that is the best it can be, they may be chosen for our Golden Book, which is celebrated and awarded during worship as a special recognition of effort and achievement.

Even the smallest actions matter. Simple things like showing good manners, holding doors open for others or being thoughtful are always noticed and valued at Staunton and Corse. These everyday moments remind us all that it is easy to let your light shine, and that when we shine together, our whole school community shines brighter.
